Grusha sacrifices everything to rescue a child abandoned by its wealthy and privileged parents. But when the child’s biological mother returns, it is left to the drunken Judge Azdak to call on the ancient rite of the chalk circle to resolve the dispute.
Georgina Lamb (Frantic Assembly, West End, RSC) leads a company of MA Actor-Musicians as they retell one of Brecht’s most popular plays, recontextualising the setting to a 2024 refugee camp to explore Brecht's musical morality tale.
